"Achieving Efficiency" at 2013 SAE World Congress

The 2014 SAE World Congress is just a few weeks away and we are pulling together our presentations about creating new possibilities and increasing collaboration in the automotive industry.  While preparing content for this year, we are looking back at what we presented at last year's SAE World Congress.

In 2013, the theme was "Achieving Efficiency."

With a large product portfolio that drives sustainability and  efficiency, we shared our expertise. Specifically, we gave the following presentations:

  • Structural Plastic Composite Components- The Multi-Material Vehicle Opportunity and Technology Gaps: Evolution or Revolution? presented by Marianne S. Morgan, Automotive Industry liaison manager, BASF Corporation.
  • Rheology of Waterborne Coatings: The Latest on Theory and Engineering Practice presented by Tim December, group leader of the Coatings Technical Lab, BASF Corporation.
  • On-Engine Investigation of SCR of Filters  (SCRoF™) for HDD Passive Applications presented by Weiyong Tang, senior research engineer, BASF Corporation.

Our presentations contributed to the overall technical sessions focused on increasing efficiency. These presentations hit on evolving powertrain technologies, trends in the development of accelerated reliability and durability testing, the use of structural plastic composite components, advances in light weight specifically aluminum and exhaust emission control to name a few.

We also made sure that everyone stayed charged and connected throughout the event by sponsoring the BASF charging station.

BASF sponsorship at 2013 SAE World Congress included a charging station to keep attendees connected throughout the event. BASF sponsorship at 2013 SAE World Congress included a charging station to keep attendees connected throughout the event.

We can't wait to share our insights and learn what's on the minds of our customers and automotive peers at this year's event.
