See What Trends Are Inspiring Tomorrow's Car Colors

BASF recently released its Global Coatings Color Collection 2014/2015 report, "Under the Radar," which outlines global themes and potential colors choices for the automaker to consider when creating the vehicle models of the future.

The global color palette draws on increased individuality, technology and connectivity.  Below are the global color predictions and trends that influenced them:

  • Individuality - People value the opportunity to demonstrate their uniqueness and genuine, honest selves. This abundance of diverse sensitivities is expressed by imparting impressionistic, strong effects to color tones that create a sense of warmth through rich, jewel tone reds and purples.

According to a recent Facebook survey, BASF found that 35 percent of people surveyed favor the Connectivity colors for the North America market. However, more than 57 percent said they drive either a black, white, gray or silver color vehicle.

"Under the Radar" presents a total of 60 colors to automakers across the globe. While neutral colors will continue remain prevalent, it is exciting to see the new, unique colors that will potentially hit the market in 2018 to pique consumer interest.
